Leadership Academy Questions – Dave Roberts, VP of CSLT

It is now time for our Sunshine Chapters to begin thinking about chapter leadership for 2013. Mr. Chapter President, have your nominating committee begin their important job of getting the right member for the right office. Whatever your process, it must conclude by submitting your 2013 officers’ names to Society Headquarters by October 15. It is important to send your officers to one of our District Leadership Academies. The dates and locations are as follows:

Oct 20 — Panhandle Academy in Ft. Walton Beach (Pensacola, Ft. Walton Beach, Panama City, and Tallahassee)

Nov 10 — Southeast Academy in Stuart (Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Palm Beach County, Martin/St. Lucie, Melbourne, Greater Canaveral, and Sebring)

Dec 15 — Southwest Academy in Venice  (Everglades, Naples/Ft. Myers, Cape Coral, Charlotte County, Englewood, Venice, Sarasota, Sun City Center, Greater Pinellas, and Manatee County)

Jan 5, 2013 — Central Academy in Ocala (Jacksonville, Tampa, Polk County, Pasco County, Winter Haven, Daytona Beach, Gainesville, Zephyrhills, Hernando County, Winter Park, Central Florida, Ocala, Citrus County, Orlando, and Winter Haven)

Our instructors are developing a new curriculum that emphasizes our Society and District’s goals while also bringing an intense focus to each officer’s responsibilities.  As a new officer, this class is a must. As an officer that is repeating their office, it is also important that you bring your experience and problems so that your 2013 is even better.

Our instructors have been certified by the Society which means that they are recognized by the society as an instructor that can teach in any of the society’s districts. Our quality instructors will bring valuable experience and focus to their classes.
